A New Way to Give Back

What Is Scrip?

Scrip is a fancy name for gift cards. First Christian School utilizes Scrip to generate additional revenue to support the school budget. The school purchases gift cards at a reduced rate, and then sells those same cards at face value.  The “rebate” (or difference between the purchase price and selling price) is how the program profits … and how parents earn a tuition discount.  In addition to budget support, FCS families receive 50% of their overall rebates as a tuition credit. We encourage all FCS parents to take part in the Scrip program. You already spend the money on gas, groceries and incidentals, so purchase related Scrip cards from the school, and earn tuition credits.

Can People Outside of First Christian School Use Scrip?

Absolutely! We welcome you to encourage your family and friends to purchase Scrip to support the FCS Scrip Goal. Please have them contact Terri Breit to link their purchases to your account.

Why Purchase Scrip?

First Christian School utilizes Scrip to generate additional revenue for the school’s budget. During the 2016-2017 school year, FCS raised $61,000 through Scrip! Families can also benefit directly from the Scrip program by doing their regular weekly shopping with Scrip gift cards. Any family that participates in the Scrip program can use 50% of the rebates tied to their account towards a tuition discount. Each Scrip year runs from May 1st through April 30th. Rebates are posted quarterly and any tuition credits earned will be applied towards your family tuition account at that time.

Can I purchase Scrip with my Credit Card or Debit Card?

Unfortunately no, as the credit card processing fees are often higher than the rebates we receive from Scrip gift card merchants.

Getting Started with Scrip Gift Cards

  1. To purchase Scrip cards immediately, stop by the school lobby and purchase out of the “Scrip to Go Box”.

  2. For Scrip that FCS doesn't stock, complete an order form in the lobby. Orders are placed weekly; your order will be delivered to the school and held in the Scrip Box for your pickup.
  3. You may also place an order at www.shopwithscrip.com. Please contact Scrip Coordinator, Terri Breit to get your username and password. Your online order will be delivered to the school and held in the Scrip Box for your pickup.

All orders dropped off or submitted via www.shopwithscrip.com should be put in the small black scrip box in the lobby, along with cash or check payment, no later than 3:15 pm each Friday. Once submitted, orders may not be returned, changed or cancelled.

Other Methods of Earning Tuition Discounts

1. eScrip

eScrip is a partnership between online merchants and communities. When you shop at participating merchants, they donate a percentage of your purchase back to the school, some of which will go toward your scrip goal. To participate, you can register all phone numbers used for grocery loyalty programs, your credit and debit cards, at www.escrip.com (our school group number is 155347479). Once registered, use your debit/credit card at participating local merchants as normal. You can also use the eScrip website to visit the Online Shopping Mall, featuring 1000+ stores such as Amazon, Nordstrom, Apple, Expedia, Sephora. Note:  eScrip can take up to 3 months to post contributions.

2. Lucky S.H.A.R.E.S. Card

Lucky Supermarket’s S.H.A.R.E.S. program contributes 3% of qualifying purchases to FCS.  To participate, register at www.luckysupermarkets.com/shares. You must also have your phone number registered with eScrip, as this is how Lucky reports earned rebates.
